NCQA

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) was formed to measure, monitor and report health plan/HMO performance. NCQA measures are known as HEDIS measures (Healthcare Employers Data Information Set) and are predominately process measures, such as:
  • Number of children under 2 yrs who complete all indicated immunizations
  • Number of women over 40 yrs who have appropriate mammography
  • Number of diabetics who have foot exams
NCQA’s "Quality Compass" allows participants to view national, regional & local comparative HEDIS compliance and member/patient satisfaction data.
