- Ask all patients about their physical activities; include
types, duration and frequency
- Provide 1 or 2 reasons why this may benefit the patient
and tailor this to the individual whenever possible
- Patients value (most of the time) provider interest
and recommendations; write a prescription for physical
activity; walking is an activity most people can participate in
- Follow up!! If you see the patient back, ask if/how
they have been able to increase their physical activity
- Most providers find this takes no more than 2 minutes
