Communicate with Infection Control

  • Report
    • Conditions requiring exposure evaluation and follow-up e.g. tuberculosis, pertussis, varicella
    • Other diseases reportable to NM Dept of Health e.g. vaccine-preventable diseases, acute hepatitis
    • Potential outbreaks: community or inpatient
    • Severe infections -necrotizing fasciitis
    • Healthcare workers with infections transmissible to patients: infectious diarrhea, strep. throat, scabies, pertussis, skin infection-require diagnosis with outside provider, may need clearance through Employee Occupational Health to return to work
