Quick Triage: Ask 4 Questions

  • Hemoptysis
  • Chronic cough for more than 2 weeks
  • Fever, chills, night sweats
  • Weight loss = 10% of IBW
  • If answers to two or more of the above questions are positive:
    • Place a well-fitted surgical mask on the patient
    • Request chest x-ray immediately
    • Arrange for patient to be placed in negative airflow room pending CXR and further assessment
