Hand Hygiene Must Be Performed

  • Before and after every patient contact
  • After removing gloves
  • If moving from contaminated area to clean area on the patient
  • In the hospital, perform hand hygiene after any contact with patient’s immediate environment
  • Note: Gloves are not a substitute for hand hygiene
