Children

  • Cannot Legally Consent
    • Consent may be as emergency consent
    • Consent may be by parent or legal guardian
      • Not by other relative or friend
    • Consent may be by guardian appointed by court
      • Call CYFD
      • Call Risk Management / Legal Counsel
  • Children may Assent
  • Judgment does not suddenly occur at age of majority and courts recognize this
  • Children who can understand risk / benefit / alternative do have some say so over their care
    • If there is disagreement between child / parent / physicians call Risk Management / Legal Counsel
