• Permit Holder responsibilities for ensuring a safe and compliant radiation work environment
• Different forms of ionizing radiation, their unique properties, and how they are produced
• Terminology and units for measuring activity and dose
• Criteria and methods for personnel dosimetry with individual monitoring devices
• Control of licensed sources of ionizing radiation from procurement to final disposal
• Specific precautions for minimizing radiological hazards in the laboratory
• Emergency response for unintended releases of, or exposures to, radioactive material
