Safe Medication Practices

  • Medication orders are legible
  • Confusing or dangerous abbreviations are not used
  • Concentrated electrolytes have been removed from floor stock
  • Medication drips are placed on flow-restricted pumps
  • Sound-alike/look-alike drugs are distinguished
  • Unit-dosed meds and standardized drips used
