Clocks

Several internal autonomous cellular clocks highly preserved evolutionarily (CLOCK system) Clocks generally runs “long” resulting in 25 hour cycle. This requires external resetting which is primarily visual based via retinal ganglion cells – melanosin - SCN and OPN in brain. Rods and cones, cryptochromes (non-visual light receptors in eye) and temperature based feedback may all be involved.
