  • CMS mandates participation in its quality initiatives. Hospital data can be viewed and compared by the general public at http://www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov
  • JCAHO and CMS concur as to reportable measures (as indicated above)
  • Currently, Surgical Infection Procedures (SIP) and Outcomes are reported to CMS and will be required by JCAHO in the near future
